Summary: This work collects and reviews waqf (awqaf) literature produced in five Muslim-majority / South & Southeast Asian countries — India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia — over a thirty-year period (1977–2007). It contains bibliographic citations (reported as several hundred entries) with brief annotations or summaries and an analytical review of trends in waqf scholarship across the region, highlighting legal, historical, administrative and social themes in waqf studies. The book is intended as a reference tool for researchers, librarians and policymakers working on waqf/Islamic endowment issues.
